Over the last few years, our desi flavours have rocked the taste buds of the people internationally. The mouth-watering masalas have given a magical touch to different cuisines of the world making them more appealing, delightful and exotic!
Indians have remastered the recipes of many cuisines from all the world, and the most favourite of all are the Indo-Chinese cuisines! With this attitude of embracing, it is time to add our extrinsic taste and create a yummy some fine Indo-Italian cuisine!
Long gone are the days where you had to eat what was served, but sometimes like our masalas, we need adventure in our daily meals too.

1: Desi Vermicelli Pasta –
Cooking Desi Vermicelli Pasta is a fusion of two polar cuisines to create a
mesmerizing taste that is new yet familiar to the Indian palate. Cook this
mouth-watering Desi-Vermicelli Pasta for a Sunday brunch and see how your
family would want to make Desi-Pasta Sundays a thing!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup boiled Vermicelli pasta
- 1 cup chopped onions
- 1/2 cup chopped capsicum
- 1/2 cup blanched peas
- 1/4 cup chopped carrots
- 1 cup chopped tomatoes
- 1/2 tsp Jeera, mustard seeds
- Few Curry leaves
- Handful Chopped coriander
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp Garam masala
- 1 tsp ketchup
- Oil as required to make a paste
Method:
Step 1: Heat oil in a pan. Crackle jeera and mustard seeds in it. Put in
curry leaves and let it splutter. In other pan boil the Vermicelli pasta.
Step 2: Add chopped onions and sauté till pink. Then add capsicum and carrots.
Step 3: Let it cook for a minute on low flame. Then add blanched peas and
chopped tomatoes.
Step 4: Add salt according to your taste and let it cook for a few minutes. Add
red chilli powder, garam masala and boiled pasta.
Step 5: Mix the vegetables and boiled Vermicelli pasta well and serve it hot
with chopped coriander.
2: Desi Macaroni Pasta –
The Macaroni pasta blends with the Indian masalas very well, it is one of the most flavoursome recipes you can cook when you are exhausted and are not in the mood to cook, but in a mood to eat tasty food.
Ingredients:
- Macaroni pasta
- Onions and tomatoes
- Parmesan cheese
Vegetables
- Green peas
- Capsicum
- Baby corn
- Carrots
Masala
- Red chilli powder
- Masala powder
- Black pepper
- Basil
- Thyme
- Parsley
Method:
Step 1: Boil water in a pan add 1/2 teaspoon salt
Step 2: Add macaroni in the pan
Step 3: Classic stirring
Step 4: Cook macaroni till they have a slight bite to them
Step 5: Drain all the water and keep cooked macaroni on the side
Step 6: Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a pan. add 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic.
Step 7: Heat till the raw aroma of garlic goes away
Step 8: Mix spice powders till you get a nice aroma and then add a cup of mix
vegetables, add onions and tomatoes according to your taste
Step 9: Pour 1 cup of water, mix the veggies and cover the pan with lid
Step 10: Cook the vegetables on a medium flame.
Step 11: Mix macaroni and vegetables
Step 12: On a low flame, heat the macaroni with vegetables till the water is
absorbed
Step 13: Add parmesan cheese or herbs according to your taste
Step 14: mix well before serving
3: Desi Penne Pasta
If you love pasta and have the taste for spicy Indian food then you wouldn’t be able to resist the Desi Penne Pasta. The Desi Penne Pasta is a perfect dinner meal to relax and enjoy the pleasant flavours of life!
Ingredients:
For Pasta:
- Penne pasta
- Butter
- Clove garlic
- Ginger
- Onion
- Tomato pulp
- Corn
- Capsicum
- Carrot
- Peas
- Florets broccoli
Masala:
- Mixed herbs
- Basil
- Marjoram
- Oregano
- Rosemary
- Sage
- Thyme
- Turmeric
- Red chilli powder
Method:
Step 1: Firstly, saute ginger and clove garlic in 1 tsp oil and 1 tsp
butter.
Step 2: Further saute ½ onion till they turn soft.
Step 3: Additionally add 1 cup tomato pulp and saute well.
Step 4: Keep stirring till the tomato pulp thickens.
Step 5: Now add ¼ tsp turmeric, ½ tsp chilli powder, ½ tsp garam masala and ½
tsp salt.
Step 6: Saute till the spices get cooked completely.
Step 7: Now add 2 tbsp corn, ¼ capsicum, ¼ carrot, 2 tbsp peas and 7 florets
broccoli. Saute for a minute.
Step 8: Add in 3 tbsp water and mix well.
Step 9: Cover and simmer for 5 minutes.
Step 10: Now add in 2 tbsp tomato sauce and ½ tsp mixed herbs. mix well.
Step 11: Add in cooked pasta and mix gently till the sauce gets coated well.
Step 12: Finally, serve masala pasta Indian style hot topped with cheese if
required.
4: Desi Fusilli Pasta
Healthy nutrients of veggies plus the divine taste of Indian masalas in a pan filled with Fusilli Pasta is a meal everyone craves for. Cook this delightfully healthy meal for breakfast to give a healthy start to your day!
Ingredients:
§ Fusilli Pasta
§ Carrot
§ Potato
§ Onion
§ Green chilli
§ Beans
§ Spring Onion
§ Capsicum
§ Turmeric Powder
§ Kitchen King Masala Powder
§ Mustard Oil
§ Pizza & Pasta Sauce
Method: Step 1: Heat mustard oil in a pan over medium heat
Step 2: Add chopped onion into it
Step 3: When onion turns translucent add chopped potatoes and carrot into it
and fry them.
Step 4: Add chopped green chillies and beans in the same wok.
Step 5: Add chopped, tomatoes, spring onion & chopped capsicum.
Step 6: Mix them well and add fusilli pasta in the pan.
Step 7: Add turmeric powder and salt into the pan.
Step 8: Add pasta & pizza sauce into the pan
Step 9: Mix them and switch off the flame.
Step 10: The recipe is ready to be served.
